The cenotaph in Bridlington, East Yorkshire was identified as structurally unstable and in 2010 Quadriga were appointed to undertake works to repair the monument.
The cenotaph was carefully dismantled to a stable level then re-built, introducing new stainless steel cramps and dowels to strengthen the structure. Stone repairs were also undertaken and the memorial was then cleaned.
Finally the fixed bronze plaques were sympathetically restored to their former glory.
The Bridlington cenotaph is a First World War memorial by EG Theakston, with bespoke sculptures by S N Babb. In 2012 the cenotaph was awarded Grade II listing.
