Dick Kerr Football Memorial
10th Jan 2018
Just before Christmas on 22nd December the new Dick Kerr Ladies Football Memorial was unveiled at Preston North End football club.
The memorial is to celebrate 100 years since the historical women’s football team was established in 1917. Christmas Day 2017 marked the 100-year anniversary of the first game played in front of 10,000 spectators at Deepdale, Preston North end.
Quadriga’s specialist stone masons were enlisted to install the 6 by 4.1 metre memorial, consisting of 60 pieces of granite with imprinted artwork weighing 2.5 tonnes. The memorial was installed over a 3-week period and an industrial stone vac was used to lift each piece of granite on to the reinforced wall.
A fantastic unique project that we are proud to have been involved with!
