The Old Fire Station in Salford was opened in 1903 and was constructed from red brick and buff terracotta. It features an iconic central clock tower and what was originally the forecourt of the Salford Central Fire Station is now a public space. The building now forms part of the University of Salford. Quadriga were employed to carry out both Phase 1 and 2 of the works.
Works included:
- Superheated steam clean of masonry
- Raking out and repointing to brickwork
- Terracotta repointing and restoration
- Roof slate repair and replacement
- Removal of vegetation to masonry
- Repairs to timber sash windows
- Restoration of the chimneys
- Repair and replacement of rainwater goods
